James R Day

James Day attended the University of Portland and the University of Washington and holds both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees. He has served as organist at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church in Portland and University Presbyterian Church in Seattle. His composition teachers include American composers Jacob Avshalomov and Paul Creston. He has received many commissions and awards, including "Composer of the Year," awarded by the Oregon Music Teachers Association. Mr. Day currently teaches composition and music technology at Warner Pacific College in Portland.

Jim and his wife Jane, a professional cellist, have three grown children and three grandchildren. All members of the family are musicians!
